Felting
Today was felt-my-button-hole-bag-day. I tried the washing machine but it was not very successful. Next I tried the kitchen sink, lots of hot water, Ivory liquid, and my wash board. Rub-a-dub-dub, and before long it was done. I put the bag back in the washing machine to spin out the extra water and used my iron to set the shape.

Felting Next
I finished knitting the bag! It went very quickly. I used Galaway Chunky by Plymouth Yarn, purchased at my local yarn shop --White River Yarns-- in White River Junction. Next I need to weave in all the ends and then felt it. Not sure if I want to do it in the washing machine per the directions or just felt it by hand in the sink.

Button Hole Bag
I finally started my button hole bag. I have been wanting to make one of these for a while. I used the unpattern from Mason-Dixon Knitting.

Baby Socks
Knitting has become my newest bliss. I have been knitting for a few years, mostly self taught, going to other more experienceced knitters or the yarn shop for help. I have been knitting baby socks lately from leftover yarn. They are so cute. The sock pattern I use is #29 Classic Socks by Yankee Knitter Designs. The socks in this picture were knit with Encore Yarn, worsted weight.

Getting Started
Created my blog -- finally. Why the name? It came from "These are a few of my favorite things." You know, "Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens..." So what are my favorite things? Now I do think rain drops on roses is very pretty image but one of my favorite things are hens and chicks.
Trying to locate a copyright free hen and chick picture is taking too much time so I think I will wait till mine are out from under all the snow and take my own picture.
